Ladies' Night på Hackeriet - Konferanse spesial

See hackeriet.no for english version.

  • hvordan får man forslaget sitt akseptert?

Date: Wednesday, February 6th, from 6pm
Place: Humla @ Hausmania, Hausmanngate 34, Oslo
Registration not required. But we’d be happy to hear you’re coming! RSVP on meetup or tell us on twitter @stationx_x

As always, feel free to drop in to our IRC channel #stationx on freenode to chat with us or ask questions! Don’t have IRC? Use the webchat, no registration required!

10 Rules For Brilliant Women

Ladies' Night - IRC special - at Hackeriet, June 5th 6pm

Dear Girl Geeks,

it’s about time to have the second Ladies’ Night at Hackeriet! (Read more about the first Ladies’ Night.)

Ladies’ Night – IRC special – at Hackeriet
Date: Tuesday, June 5th, 6pm
Place: Humla at Hausmania kulturhus, Hausmannsgate 34, Oslo

This time around, we will have an introduction to Internet Relay Chat, IRC. IRC is a way to chat online that’s been around for about 25 years, but is still in use, especially in open source projects and hackerspaces. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn everything you need to feel comfortable using it. Plus we will tell you some secrets about the bots lurking in our channel on freenode, #oslohackerspace!

Bring your own laptop, if possible.

Not interested in IRC or know all about it? Join us after the workshop around 7pm for CCC – Coffee, Cake, Club-Mate, and socializing.

Registration is not required, but if you RSVP on Meetup, you’ll get a reminder the day before. And we get an idea about how much cake to make. ;)

PS: Check also out our upcoming summer party on Saturday, June 9th!

Ladies' Night at Hackeriet, May 8th 6pm

Hackeriet invites all Ladies to our first Ladies’ Night ever! Hackeriet, formerly know as Oslo Hackerspace, is a physical space where people can go to make things and meet others with similar interests. This is not just about computer programming; any makers, from graphics artists, metalworkers and food hackers to ham radio people and electronics geeks are welcome to join up. We like learning and teaching about all sorts of things, through workshops and working on projects together, have heated yet friendly discussions and just like to hang out together.

At Ladies’ Night, we will have:

  • a presentation what Hackeriet is all about and why we want to have a Ladies’ Night
  • disussions and mingling
  • screening of the hacker documentary “Hippies From Hell”
  • coffee, cake and club-mate….and lots of fun!

The event is free and no registration is required. But if you want to tell the world you’re attending, you can RSVP on meetup.com or facebook.
You don’t have to be a hacker to attend. But curiosity is required! ;)

We’re very much looking forward to this event and hope to see many ladies there, so please spread the word! We also printed some posters, let us know if you know just the place to put up one!

Silje (fnords) and Ellen (ln2v) for Hackeriet

Intro to Programming - Workshop for Women

- English version below -

Her finner du mer informasjon og påmelding.

Any Girl Geeks out there who don’t know a thing about programming, but would love to learn how to do it? I’m gonna hold a newby workshop just for women, at Hackeriet, Oslo’s hackerspace. Here’s more information and registration. The workshop’s gonna be in English.

There are not many places left. You’re very welcome to be on the waiting list, so I can see how many people are interested. If it’s enough, I will be doing the workshop again.

Got any questions? Just get in touch with me here on Origo, via meetup or on Twitter @ln2v.

Please spread the word!

Ellen

PS: Do you already know a thing or two about Ruby and would like to hold the workshop together with me? I’d be happy to hear from you! Contact me here on Origo, via meetup or on Twitter @ln2v.
